This video shows you how to use the Dorman Products Fuel Inlet Valve 577-106 to repair a leaking fuel tank inlet check valve for the 2003-2004 Chevy SSR / 2002-2004 Chevy Trailblazer Base / 2004 Chevy Trailblazer SS – Repair Leaking Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve.

The fuel tank inlet check valve that connects the fuel filler tubing to the fuel tank has a well-documented problem of it leaking fuel once the plastic around the fuel inlet check valve becomes older or exposed to any amount of external stress.

GM created a “Special Coverage Adjustment” (not a recall) document with an id of 14423C.

14423C – Special Coverage Adjustment – Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve Fracture

The 14423C special coverage adjustment would cover the repair of this inlet check valve fracture which results in a fuel leak for a period of up to 15 years from the vehicle’s in-service date or 150,000 miles.

Now that most if not all the vehicles with this issue are beyond the time and miles of this special coverage adjustment, the owners that experience this problem must either replace the fuel tank or find another solution.

This video shows you an alternative solution to this problem by replacing only the inlet check valve with the Dorman Products Fuel Inlet Valve part number 577-106.

This video will focus on the installation of the Dorman Products 577-106 product.
